painting of little boy grinning

Beckham

During this past summer, my cousin asked me if I could paint her three boys. While painting Beckham I had the most trouble with his mouth, in the image I was given to go off, his teeth were showing, after trying multiple trys, I improvised and closed his mouth to my best ability.

painting of a little boy eating a chip

Kayce

Kayce is the second son of my cousins. For his painting I really wanted to capture his playful and smiley personality. In the painting I used thin lines for his curls to show the curls in all of their glory. With all his curly hair I also made sure to capture his big smile and snack in hand. Kayce loves snacks, so it had to be in there!

painting of a chunky baby laughing

Clay

Clay is my cousin’s youngest; he is a baby but definitely still has a personality. Clay is very smiley and a little chunky. I painted him with a big smile and did not forget any rolls! I tried to incorporate motion slightly to make him look like he was actively laughing.

painting of Billie Eilish holding her glasses

Billie

Billie Eilish is one of my favorite music artists so of course I wanted to paint her so I could hang it on my wall. A Lot of her songs are sad and relatable, to enhance the sadness I used darker colors as well as painted her facial expression in a typical sad placement. Her eye contact helps show how she sees you and understands what you are going through.

painting of a girls head floating

Kaitlin

One day I had a huge urge to just paint. To satisfy this need I painted my sister. The main reason I painted my sister this day was because I missed her. Being away at college really makes me realize how much I miss my family; in this instance it was my sister. I love how goofy she is, so I went through all the embarrassing images I have taken of her and chose the "worst" one!

painting of a mans head floating in the clouds

Jeff

When it came time for my dad’s birthday this last year I didn't have much money but I did have a canvas and paint, so for my dad’s birthday I decided to paint a portrait based off one of my favorite pictures that I took of him. To make the painting more fun and different from the picture I reimagined the background.
